The Value of Any Endeavor Begins with the Quality of the People Involved.
Our principal in this company is a mother and dedicated educator. Much of the direction of this venture comes from her life experience as both.
Danelle Schulze-Berndt has been educating first graders for over 25 years. Her love of children and passion for excellence have been apparent since her early years in high school. With this background, Danelle decided a few years back that she wanted to have an impact on youngsters beyond what she could do teaching first graders year after year. Combining her love of teaching with a lifelong passion for the behavioral sciences, Danelle started her publishing company, 2 Kids Publishing. But rather than focusing on turning out books just to entertain children, her loftier goal was to entertain AND TEACH at the same time. With the Teddy Cares for Kids™ series of books, she aims to promote parent/child reading and interaction while teaching the important lessons of social values such as kindness, understanding, honesty, determination, etc., all in a colorful and fun style.
Danelle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in children’s art. She is an educator in the Cypress School District in California where she began her 25 year career dedicated to first grade education. She has an extensive background teaching in multi-ethnic and special needs, self-contained classrooms. She has a credential to teach multi-lingual children and has been an educator representative on many organizations and committees. Danelle is married and has two grown children.
Our advisor is a dedicated father and social values advocate. He brings his head and heart to our company.
Doug Grant is president of Westamerica Communications, a printing communications company located in Lake Forest, CA. As a celebrated successful business leader for over 35 years, Doug understands how important culture and teamwork are to a successful organization and society. Doug believes that children who learn positive social values at an early age grow up to be productive and engaged citizens. Values such as respect, determination, understanding, fairness, kindness, and honesty make for a healthier home and classroom. And pay big dividends when they enter the workplace as adults.
Responsible corporate stewardship and the desire to “give back” are values that Doug strives to model. He is the founder of the 50 Mile Ride mountain bike event, in support of Team Africa Rising and World Bicycle Relief. To date, the annual event has provided over 1,600 cargo and utility bikes to farmers, caregivers and students in Rwanda and other parts of Africa. In honor of Doug’s deceased wife – a dedicated schoolteacher herself – the Sandy Grant Education Center opened in 2013 in Musanze, Rwanda, providing classroom teaching and life-skills training to the athletes and volunteers of Team Rwanda Cycling. Doug is married and has two grown children.
